2017: a year in review

2017 best of-018.jpg

It's a good thing we're photographers because it's hard to find words to describe 2017. Personally and professionally it was a year of firsts and tremendous growth. Thanks so much to everyone who chose to work with us in 2017. I don't think we could have made it through such a crazy year without so many awesome new and returning clients, and we have some big changes coming in 2018.

Here are a few of our favorites from the past year, Enjoy!

Marcie & Carl // MARRIED // Franklin Park Conservatory Wells Barn

Marcie & Carl were married on a BEAUTIFUL sunny day in April at the Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory. This was our first wedding at the barn, and it fully exceeded my expectations. Not only do you have the beautiful reclaimed wood, but you also have access to the most beautiful gardens in Columbus. And I just loved these two the moment I met them. Marcie and I hit it off right away over coffee, and Mike and I loved getting to know them over the past year. We're so excited to share some more from their wedding. Scroll allllll the way to the bottom to see it all! Enjoy!

Pat & Christina // MARRIED // Columbus Country Club

I'm so excited to share this beautiful wedding! This one is extra special for me, because I've known Pat for about a million years. And I just loved Chris the moment I met her. They're just perfect together, and it was so apparent at the wedding, as they were surrounded by friends and family supporting their marriage. As part photographer and part guest (I was only 2 weeks post partum!), I sobbed as I listened to their best man and matron of honor speeches. I'm so thankful to have been a part of their big day (complete with a White Castle late night snack). And one more big thanks to our friend and colleague Hristina from Aperture for collaborating with Mike in my absence.

Liam 2/24/17

On February 24th at 6:30pm after 24 hours of labor followed by an unplanned C section, Liam Michael Horgan was born. Although it's only been 3 weeks, it's hard to imagine how things were without our squishy faced finger toed little man. Leading up to the big day you receive plenty of advice and hear all the cliches, but it truly isn't something that can be put into words. Hopefully these images do a better job of telling the story of how little Liam Michael came into the world and the crazy first few days of his life.

Kelsey & Ryan // Franklin Park Conservatory // Columbus Ohio Wedding Photography

Our LAST wedding of 2016, Kelsey & Ryan's wedding somehow still managed to sneak in some peak fall leaves (see all that vibrant color below!). Although it was a chilly mid November day, Franklin Park Conservatory was as beautiful as ever, and we were so thankful when the couple agreed to step outside for portraits (and even again after dark!). The ceremony was sweet, and the reception was a blast. The live band made guests flock to the dance floor, and the couple danced through night as their friends and family circled around them for the last song. See it all below - plus a few photobooth photos for your entertainment! :)

Baby Abigail // Columbus Ohio Lifestyle Photography

One of my favorite things to do when wedding season winds down is shoot in-home sessions. Having a small window into the personal lives of our clients is a pretty special thing. Especially during major changes like the addition of a new little one. We had the pleasure of shooting older brother Eli's newborn photos a few years ago, so it was that much more exciting returning to meeting baby Abby. Scroll down and soak up those baby cheeks!
